#4 - Our Days Of Laughter

Kimi Ni Todoke - The Anime.

What about it?

Wellllll.

The art IS beautiful. [Especially at the parts where they animate that evening sunlight effect.] The colours are vivid and clean and very pretty to look at.

Still. The best part of this anime are the two main characters, and some very likable side characters as well. Kazehaya is not your typical shoujo lead guy, and neither is Sawako your typical shoujo lead girl.

*HERE I HAVE AN ABSOLUTTTT FANGIRL MOMENT.*

Kazehaya and Sawako are one of THE BEST anime couples out there right now. Although the anime is of the shoujo genre, the character development and the pacing of the episodes are good. Sawako never gets on my nerves even when she has that scary-but-actually-really-nice-and-innocent personality which is a typical shoujo cliche, and somehow or other she manages to pull it off (also kudos to the plot, I guess.) I love watching her character development, and she's just too lovable to hate. Everything she does just makes her more endearing.

To Kazehaya, of course. =)

Kazehaya is the PERFECT male lead for Sawako. Their relationship is simple and tender, and Kazehaya is surprisingly shy at times (which makes him awesome and all the more real) It is apparent right from the beginning that he really likes her, and I love the fact that although Sawako always assumes that she wouldn't be anything without Kazehaya, he acknowledges that it was all her own work and that she is also teaching him new things.

*FANGIRL SQUEE*

The sweetest relationship around, I swear. A change from one of my other favourite anime couples - Koizumi Risa and Otani Atsushi (is that how you spell it?) of LoveCom fame. [Which I SHALL be rewatching soon, at the end of the year.]

Besides them, the side characters add a lot to the story, (the Ryuu-Chizu storyline in the manga is becoming a bit annoying, however) by helping the development of the main characters. Generally, they don't annoy me (most of the time, the side characters annoy me, so this is a good thing.)

Character designs follow the manga, so I'm not going into that.

I mentioned about voice acting in one of my previous posts, and how I didn't really like it - well, it does sort of grow on you, and the voices are remarkably suited to the characters (even if I don't like Sawako's voice like that...still.)

Overall ~ this is one of those anime, in the category of TO WATCH. A good thing, since there hasn't been a lot of new GOOD shoujo anime lately. I think the last one that I watched was Skip Beat (had its great moments, but nothing like the manga, plus: Kyoko's voice somewhat grated on my nerves.)

Latest episode for Kimi Ni Todoke? Episode four, which I am watching tomorrow. Cheers. =D

#3 - Don't Mind, Don't Mind...

It is always bad to have new obsessions.

It is always bad to rekindle old obsessions.

It is always bad to obsess about anything when you're having exams (other than obsessing about your exams, which is perfectly fine.)

All that's going into my head: crossgame crossgame crossgame crossgame crossgame crossgame.

Reaaaallllly now.

Adachi Mitsuru is my hero. I looooovvveeeeee his works. Rough is a super super favourite, H2, Katsu, Touch......Cross Game....

One of the masterpieces.

And there's a new one called Q&A that is promising =D

Well anyway. Cross Game.

It's really quite different from other Adachi manga...I like the dynamic between Koh and Aoba. Very much. Liking it very much.

(I was SO surprised Wakaba was...yeah. Maybe it's just me.)

But the manga's not just baseballbaseballbaseball (of course there's a fair amount of baseball in it...seeing how it's a baseball series and everything.) but mostly its about the growing up part of people, and moving on in life... focusing more on character development instead of the baseball side. In fact for now Koh and Azuma have been dominating the games, and I think that's a little unfair since the whole team should have improved quite a bit with all their crazy practicing. Putting that aside,

Well I like it.

=D

It has some of the Adachi stereotypes...but not too much. And I love Adachi so his stereotypes aren't that annoying anyway.

Obessed, I am.

I shall not explain details and skip the detailed review, because I am lazy and supposed to be in my exam mode, but if you haven't picked this up and you are a fan of well written manga (be it sports or romance or anything) wellllll.

Pick it.

Up.

And if you're just one of those people who really aren't into manga...Adachi might change your mind. =)

That's Koh and Aoba =D

Cross Game's an anime too. Which of course, I am obsessing over as well by default and because I am to silly to concentrate more on exams, which I SHOULD theoretically be doing but am not.

Ohwell.

One of those mysteries in life which I can't seem to solve.

Well. It's coming out next month...

So very, very far away.

So very, very, very, very far away.

Ohmy I can't wait that long. WHY!!?

I shall drown my sorrows in the Brotherhood anime. Which reminds me to give it to Boon and Alvin once the exams are done, because they're missing out on the REAL FMA stuff.

OH AND BIG NEWS EVERYONE!! Or at least, BIG NEWS ALEX/GIULETA/JAC (cause you guys are like the shoujo people...Shufei's the shonen person....and the boys are just...Naruto-&-Bleach.)

KIMI NO TODOKE IS AN ANIME!!!! =D

YES.

Kimi No Todoke (Reaching You) is an ANIME. =D I've watched the first two episodes already. Hmm...I don't LOVE the voice casting, but so far the anime's pretty nice, and follows the manga to a T. [good thing, that.]

Go! Go download it!! Or ask me to give it to you, you know you want to!!!

I have presents for people with hard drives =D

I'M SHARING THE LOVE!!

#1 - Let's Talk About Love

I just thought I'd like somewhere separate to post about my obsessive tendencies towards anime and manga. So ~ I decided to make a different blog for my OCD. =D Plain for now, since I've got no time for fancy photoshop until around the end of this month.

AND I've GOT MUCH TO TALK ABOUT.

.......And so, at chapter 136, Nodame Cantabile the manga has officially ended.

[.....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!....]

I won't spoil anything...but I'm just saying. It's NOT SATISFYING!!! How could it end just like that!??! Where did all the story go to?!!?! It's so....it's sooooo....abrupt.

Right then. I'll pick a neutral-ish page so that I don't spoil much.

Really now.

Come cry with me, Alexandra!! WE'VE JUST LOST ONE OF THE BEST SERIES~ EVER~

TO ONE OF THOSE ENDINGS THAT REALLY DON'T SATISFY YOU~ MUCH~

like I said,

[....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!....]

I do so hope Ninomiya-sensei comes up with something else to help close the series. I was reaaaalllly hoping for some flash-forwards scenes in the last chapter, but ...nothing of the sort. Brief glimpses of Mine...Kuroki...and it went by so fast-

[....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!....]

Honestly I thought it was going to be at least one volume longer (wishful thinking on my part) but IT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE-e-e-e-e-e-e-e.

But it has ended and I'm going to be strong now and move on and wait like a good girl for my latest Team Medical Dragon fix.

Who am I kidding?!?!

[....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!.....]

darn.
